Demon Slayer : Kimetsu no Yaiba anime has just ended prior to the Fall season 2019 and it was one of the most popular anime series of 2019 hands down. Ufotable’s treatment to this new shounen rising star was well commended by both fans and critics. Now, the fans of the anime are too eager to find out the rest of the story, resulting in an exponential sales growth for its Manga in Japan.
Latest Reports suggests that Manga sales of Kimetsu no Yaiba may as well surpass One Piece Manga sales this year. When it comes to Manga One Piece is the unrivaled king, which has been Holding the throne in sales since 2000, and only went down from that spot 3 times in the past 19 years.
@KnYSource on Twitter reports that Demon Slayer manga is already 200,000 copies ahead of One Piece in Sales. If the trend keeps up, we might see One Piece dethroned for the 4th time in its long run in Japan.
But, It is also worth noting that we are talking about Total Manga sales here. Since Kimetsu no Yaiba is a sudden hit, thanks to the well-made anime, the fans are buying all 17 volumes of the Manga to catch up with the story. It is very safe to say that it has not threatened One Piece’s popularity or even managed to surpass One Piece in terms of single volume sales.
